I'm currently writing this article using my Motorola Droid while sitting in the back of a car during a 12 hour road trip. Although it is taking a lot more work to write an article entirely from my phone, it is still possible and it's gotten me thinking: Would it be possible to make a living entirely from my cellphone?

Because you are reading this article, I have just made an additional 1/3 of a penny. Of course that is practically nothing, but it's not a bad way to spend an hour that I would have otherwise spent day dreaming. Here are some other ways that you can now, or should be able to in the future, make money with just a phone.

Making Money with a Smart Phone

There are a lot of people who have to use their phone to assist them with their job. What are some ways that you could make your entire livelihood from a phone?

1. Writing articles and blogs

This is what I'm doing with this article and I am currently concluding that it is not financially lucrative. Although my phone has it's own slideout keyboard, it is so small and the buttons so inconvenient that I would not do this constantly. However, I know that you can now purchase mini projectors and projector keyboards for your phone. If you were to integrate the two of those with your phone, it may actually be a plausible way to write.

2. Uploading Videos to Youtube

Although the editing capabilities are minimal on a smartphone, the ability to record and upload to Youtube are definitely there. You will have to be receiving a large number of views on your videos before you start making significant money on Youtube, but the last article I read stated that there are over 15O people who are making six figures with their Youtube channels. Of course, I doubt any of these guys are using phones to make all of their videos, but it is possible.

3. Take Pictures

The quality of phone cameras is continuing to improve. It is likely that we will continue to need professional cameras for serious photography. However, pics from phones are already showing up in news reports. It may be very possible to sell the photos you take of activities, events, or people because they will be pictures that no one else can take. After all, paporatzi magazines already use poor quality photos, why shouldn't those pictures be from you? I think that phone pics will continue to become more valuable as time goes on.

4. Ebay and Other Online Auctions

While rumaging through the yard sale you see an item for $5. After checking it out on your phone you realize that you could sell it for $2O! Buy the item, take a picture with your phone, and post it for sale on Ebay or some other website. A smart phone gives you the opportunity to do your research while in the field and even post the item for sale before making it home.

I'm sure that, if you spend some time thinking about it, you will be able to come up with other ways a cellphone could be used to make a living. Now go find a way to make it happen and start living the extreme flexible lifestyle with a job that fits in your pocket.

Pros and Cons of Phone Blogging

Through thinking about and writing this article, several pros and cons came to mind in regards to using your phone as your major money making tool.

Pros: The costs of larger and more expensive tools is completely eliminated. Your entire job fits in your pocket - giving you ultimate flexibility. People will be jealous and you will have awesome bragging rights.

Cons: During the process of writing this article I lost content multiple times because the browser is not conveniently compatible with the Hubpages website. The screen and keyboard are smaller. If everything is on one tool, you loose everything when that tool malfunctions.

All in all, it was a great time filler writing an article from my phone. It may be a while before the phone is up to a standard where it can compete with computers, but I do believe it will happen in the near future. We live in an exciting time!
